Meditation is the foundation of spiritual development & greater alignment with your Higher Self & divine nature. Enabling us to clear negative energy attachments, it improves our balance spiritually, access our intuition, find answers to personal issues, & enhance our cosmic connection with the Universe.
Most psychics, clairvoyants, & spiritual teachers make use of the power of meditation daily, in order to maintain their own flow of energy, & strengthen their extra-sensory abilities.
It’s also a good idea for the clients of psychics to do some meditation, or even place themselves in a meditative state, before they receive a psychic reading. This will greatly enhance the results of the psychic reading or channeling session.
To get the best results from your own meditation, it’s important to start from a solid foundation & have the following building blocks in place.
Comfortable Posture
It doesn’t matter too much which position you choose for yourself to meditate. The most popular is seated on the floor with the legs crossed. It’s also perfectly acceptable to meditate while sitting in a chair, lying down on your back or even standing up.
The most important aspect is to ensure that you’re perfectly comfortable & relaxed in whatever position you choose.
Close the Circuit
Meditation is greatly enhanced by crossing the legs at the ankles & gently clasping the hands or intertwining the fingers. This creates a closed circuit, providing a stable basis for the flow of energy.
Relax
Progressively relax different parts of your body, one at a time. Do this by focusing on that area & imagining the tension ‘flowing out’ or ‘melting away’. A good way for beginners to learn this process is to tighten or contract the muscles in each area, holding it for a few seconds, then letting it go & feeling the area relax.
Quiet Mind
Once your body is completely relaxed, the next step is to shut down all your thoughts & let your mind become quiet, calm & relaxed. Avoid any inner ‘chatter’, self-talk or the chanting of any mantras.
Forget all your responsibilities, worries, & concerns. The aim is to ‘clear’ the mind completely. Don’t allow your mind to wander. Relax & try to think of absolutely nothing. Meditate with your eyes gently closed in a quiet, warm & comfortable environment.
Breathing
The main focus of any meditation session should always be on your breathing. By concentrating the natural flow of our breath, we are more easily able to transcend the mind & calm our thoughts. Breathing shouldn’t be done consciously; don’t focus or put any effort into inhaling or exhaling. Simply allow breathing to occur spontaneously, while you merely observe it happening. Each time you find yourself being distracted, or your mind following a thought process, return to your observation of breathing.
Once you reach a state of complete relaxation, you’re ready to begin your meditation..
