There are so many different reasons for not sleeping well – stress, worry, ill health, poor air, too hot, too cold – the list is endless.. It’s truly incredible what we can ‘dream’ up to stop us getting proper, refreshing rest.
Stressing out at work – overwhelming ourselves with jobs to do…making lists… prioritising… & still we can’t do it all.
Tomorrow starts with us having to rocket out of the starting blocks, almost literally having to run up hill, just so we can catch up with yesterday. Not content with this though, we then rush out to eat food that would knock out an elephant & then we wonder why we suffer from irritable bowel, gas, bloating, acid heartburn, constipation or worse!
We must keep going though, so we drug ourselves awake with coffee & tea & then add caffeine rich, sugar loaded soft drinks for energy.
It’s all hurry, hurry – worry, worry. We rush to work & then rush home.
We haven’t time to cook real food anymore, so we use the microwave or boil it in a bag…
Sometimes even standing up in the kitchen, eating it straight out of the tray – just to save time on the washing up.
All so that we can sit down, exhausted, in front of the telly to be fed more crap…’A telly diet’ full of poisons – violence, abuse, hatred, war, spying on your neighbour & learning not to trust a soul in the world, not even yourself.
Then it’s bedtime.
In the bedroom maybe we flick on the telly for the final good news story at the end of the news…you know the kind of thing…the one about the bag full of puppies that were dumped in a landfill site, but managed to survive – or some other jolly tale…Ho, ho, ho. It’s no wonder we can’t get any restful sleep!
A few easy to follow steps can help iron out some of the major problems. Keep it simple. Learn to keep your life simple…
Simplify your work by saying no. It’s much better to do less very well, than to do lots shoddily. Your boss will agree because the results will prove you right.
Less is more.
Simplify your food by not bothering to cook at all, or very little!
Lots of raw fruit & veg – the 20/80% rule is good. 20% cooked to 80% raw. Don’t buy processed & don’t process it yourself.
Buy food that sounds like it may actually be food. For instance butter, made simply from milk fat – not margarine which is mainly chemical plasticisers. If you’re going to eat sugar, eat sugar – natural unrefined & not too much…Don’t touch the deadly chemical substitutes.
Take time to prepare your food…Sit down to eat it. Enjoy it, don’t rush it. Why rush? Where are you going? You won’t go far without fuel. So relax, chill & take time to digest food.
Keep hydrated. Make sure you drink water. The best water you can get. Water that’s clean, pure & preferably, charged with Reiki.
It’s simple, good for you & your body knows this.
Choose your telly watching carefully. Pretend you are choosing for a beautiful child that you don’t want to frighten or corrupt.
Now the best part…
Relax in a beautiful bath. Fill the bath with warm water. Add one large jug of Reiki charged water, & swish.
Get in & soak for at least 5 minutes or more. Dissolve away your cares. Use gentle, natural soap, & only natural products in the bathroom.
Soaking in a tub after a hard day helps to melt away the stress, so adding soothing, calming Stones like Lepidolite, Larimar, or Kunzite to your bath water will help calm & relax you.
Here is my favourite recipe for a relaxing bath:
Place a piece of Lepidolite into the tub allowing the water to run over it as the tub fills. Make sure you don’t lose your Crystals down the drain when you let the water out. Put them into a mesh cloth bag if you prefer & let the bag hang down into the water.
Add pure Lavender essential oil, about 10 drops
Add 1 Cup sea salt
Light a candle & dim the lights
The best part comes next – climb in & soak..
Keep the bedroom for sleeping. No electrical stuff if possible.
There’s a choice of Crystals to help us sleep, my favourites are Amethyst, Quartz & Selenite. Amethyst has a soothing, calming energy that helps us relax. Working to absorb & repel all negative energies, ridding our body of stress, anxiety, nervous energy & frustration about not being able to fall asleep. Placing Amethyst under a pillow before sleeping also increases dreams & chases away nightmares.
Quartz helps to ensure dreams are pleasant. It’s a wonderful Crystal that works to amplify the properties of any Crystals touching it – meaning it will magnify the healing energy of Amethyst & Selenite.
Before sleeping, hold the Quartz & think about any problems that you have. When you fall asleep with the Crystals under your pillow, they will help your mind work through these issues while you’re asleep.
Selenite is one of the best Crystals for insomnia because it helps to battle it. Surrounding your body with protective energy while you are sleeping, cleansing & rejuvenating your aura, so you wake up feeling rested. Selenite is one of the Crystals that everyone should have in their home because it carries such a high vibration.
